Omschrijving:
Marja en ik beginnen 8 december 2016 aan een nieuw fietsavontuur waarvan de route ons langs de grillige kusten van de provincies
'Tamil Nadu' 'Kerala' 'Karnataka' en 'Maharastra' zal voeren.
We beginnen in 'Chennai' (voorheen 'Madras') en hopen 9 februari 2017 na 2600 gezonde fietskilometers vanuit 'Mumbai' weer terug te kunnen vliegen.
Het alom aanwezige Hindoeïsme blijft voor ons westerlingen een groot mysteri.
Er zijn geen nauwkeurig omschreven geloofsartiekelen.
Er is geen stichter, noch een kerkelijke organisatie.
Iedere gemeenschap bepaalt er zijn eigen wetten en leefregels, zoals het hen het beste past.
De basis van het Hindoeïsme vormen de 4 Veda's, in het Sanskriet geschreven religieuze teksten uit circa 1000 v.Chr.
Het aantal goden dat ze vereren is er eindeloos (men spreekt dan ook van het land van één miljoen goden) en hun bekendste 'Brahma' 'Shiva' en 'Vishnu' hebben elk meer dan duizend namen.
Voor ons belangrijk is de 'olifant god Ganesha' hij symboliseert kennis en wijsheid en waakt over reizigers.
Reincarnatie en respect voor alle leven zijn belangrijke elementen in het Hindoeïsme.
De Jainistische priesters gaan daarin wel heel ver, zij hebben bv gaasjes voor hun mond om te voorkomen dat er een insectje in kan vliegen en vegen de grond voor iedere stap.
Daarnaast wonen er in dit deel van India ook veel Moslims, met heel wat overblijfselen van de vroegere Islamitische macht.

Omschrijving:
Marja en ik beginnen 8 december 2016 aan een nieuw fietsavontuur waarvan de route ons langs de grillige kusten van de provincies
'Tamil Nadu' 'Kerala' 'Karnataka' en 'Maharastra' zal voeren.
We beginnen in 'Chennai' (voorheen 'Madras') en hopen 9 februari 2017 na 2600 gezonde fietskilometers vanuit 'Mumbai' weer terug te kunnen vliegen.
Het alom aanwezige Hindoeïsme blijft voor ons westerlingen een groot mysteri.
Er zijn geen nauwkeurig omschreven geloofsartiekelen.
Er is geen stichter, noch een kerkelijke organisatie.
Iedere gemeenschap bepaalt er zijn eigen wetten en leefregels, zoals het hen het beste past.
De basis van het Hindoeïsme vormen de 4 Veda's, in het Sanskriet geschreven religieuze teksten uit circa 1000 v.Chr.
Het aantal goden dat ze vereren is er eindeloos (men spreekt dan ook van het land van één miljoen goden) en hun bekendste 'Brahma' 'Shiva' en 'Vishnu' hebben elk meer dan duizend namen.
Voor ons belangrijk is de 'olifant god Ganesha' hij symboliseert kennis en wijsheid en waakt over reizigers.
Reincarnatie en respect voor alle leven zijn belangrijke elementen in het Hindoeïsme.
De Jainistische priesters gaan daarin wel heel ver, zij hebben bv gaasjes voor hun mond om te voorkomen dat er een insectje in kan vliegen en vegen de grond voor iedere stap.
Daarnaast wonen er in dit deel van India ook veel Moslims, met heel wat overblijfselen van de vroegere Islamitische macht.

Omschrijving:
Marja en ik beginnen 8 december 2016 aan een nieuw fietsavontuur waarvan de route ons langs de grillige kusten van de provincies
'Tamil Nadu' 'Kerala' 'Karnataka' en 'Maharastra' zal voeren.
We beginnen in 'Chennai' (voorheen 'Madras') en hopen 9 februari 2017 na 2600 gezonde fietskilometers vanuit 'Mumbai' weer terug te kunnen vliegen.
Het alom aanwezige Hindoeïsme blijft voor ons westerlingen een groot mysteri.
Er zijn geen nauwkeurig omschreven geloofsartiekelen.
Er is geen stichter, noch een kerkelijke organisatie.
Iedere gemeenschap bepaalt er zijn eigen wetten en leefregels, zoals het hen het beste past.
De basis van het Hindoeïsme vormen de 4 Veda's, in het Sanskriet geschreven religieuze teksten uit circa 1000 v.Chr.
Het aantal goden dat ze vereren is er eindeloos (men spreekt dan ook van het land van één miljoen goden) en hun bekendste 'Brahma' 'Shiva' en 'Vishnu' hebben elk meer dan duizend namen.
Voor ons belangrijk is de 'olifant god Ganesha' hij symboliseert kennis en wijsheid en waakt over reizigers.
Reincarnatie en respect voor alle leven zijn belangrijke elementen in het Hindoeïsme.
De Jainistische priesters gaan daarin wel heel ver, zij hebben bv gaasjes voor hun mond om te voorkomen dat er een insectje in kan vliegen en vegen de grond voor iedere stap.
Daarnaast wonen er in dit deel van India ook veel Moslims, met heel wat overblijfselen van de vroegere Islamitische macht.

fietsen langs ruige kusten
Omschrijving:
Marja en ik beginnen 8 december 2016 aan een nieuw fietsavontuur waarvan de route ons langs de grillige kusten van de provincies
'Tamil Nadu' 'Kerala' 'Karnataka' en 'Maharastra' zal voeren.
We beginnen in 'Chennai' (voorheen 'Madras') en hopen 9 februari 2017 na 2600 gezonde fietskilometers vanuit 'Mumbai' weer terug te kunnen vliegen.
Het alom aanwezige Hindoeïsme blijft voor ons westerlingen een groot mysteri.
Er zijn geen nauwkeurig omschreven geloofsartiekelen.
Er is geen stichter, noch een kerkelijke organisatie.
Iedere gemeenschap bepaalt er zijn eigen wetten en leefregels, zoals het hen het beste past.
De basis van het Hindoeïsme vormen de 4 Veda's, in het Sanskriet geschreven religieuze teksten uit circa 1000 v.Chr.
Het aantal goden dat ze vereren is er eindeloos (men spreekt dan ook van het land van één miljoen goden) en hun bekendste 'Brahma' 'Shiva' en 'Vishnu' hebben elk meer dan duizend namen.
Voor ons belangrijk is de 'olifant god Ganesha' hij symboliseert kennis en wijsheid en waakt over reizigers.
Reincarnatie en respect voor alle leven zijn belangrijke elementen in het Hindoeïsme.
De Jainistische priesters gaan daarin wel heel ver, zij hebben bv gaasjes voor hun mond om te voorkomen dat er een insectje in kan vliegen en vegen de grond voor iedere stap.
Daarnaast wonen er in dit deel van India ook veel Moslims, met heel wat overblijfselen van de vroegere Islamitische macht.

'Tamil Nadu' 'Kerala' 'Karnataka' en 'Maharastra' zal voeren.
We beginnen in 'Chennai' (voorheen 'Madras') en hopen 9 februari 2017 na 2600 gezonde fietskilometers vanuit 'Mumbai' weer terug te kunnen vliegen.
Het alom aanwezige Hindoeïsme blijft voor ons westerlingen een groot mysteri.
Er zijn geen nauwkeurig omschreven geloofsartiekelen.
Er is geen stichter, noch een kerkelijke organisatie.
Iedere gemeenschap bepaalt er zijn eigen wetten en leefregels, zoals het hen het beste past.
De basis van het Hindoeïsme vormen de 4 Veda's, in het Sanskriet geschreven religieuze teksten uit circa 1000 v.Chr.
Het aantal goden dat ze vereren is er eindeloos (men spreekt dan ook van het land van één miljoen goden) en hun bekendste 'Brahma' 'Shiva' en 'Vishnu' hebben elk meer dan duizend namen.
Voor ons belangrijk is de 'olifant god Ganesha' hij symboliseert kennis en wijsheid en waakt over reizigers.
Reincarnatie en respect voor alle leven zijn belangrijke elementen in het Hindoeïsme.
De Jainistische priesters gaan daarin wel heel ver, zij hebben bv gaasjes voor hun mond om te voorkomen dat er een insectje in kan vliegen en vegen de grond voor iedere stap.
Daarnaast wonen er in dit deel van India ook veel Moslims, met heel wat overblijfselen van de vroegere Islamitische macht.
